Happy 4th B'Day Suburbview.com

in
It seemed like yesterday when I began my search for a home with the simple idea to view all the properties on a map. Google Maps for Australia wasn’t available, so I created a way to save the properties and view them in Google Earth.

So in August 2006, for US$10 I purchased the suburbview.com domain and a full year of hosting. This web site became my creative outlet for discovering new technologies that has expanded my career.

In a spare weekend, not knowing what to do with the old data Suburb View was no longer using, I created Oldlistings.com.au. This site is based on my belief that purchasing a home you should have as much knowledge of price history as possible. This site shows the date of the last advertised property price which is very helpful in seeing historical advertising trends.

In the last 12 months my 2 main web sites have seen over 2 million visitors
Suburbview.com
2006 - 2007 : 20,400 Visits
2007 - 2008 : 471,904 Visits
2008 - 2009 : 881,682 Visits
2009 - 2010 : 1,273,007 Visits

Oldlistings.com.au
2006 - 2007 : 0
2007 - 2008 : 221,770 Visits
2008 - 2009 : 324,203 Visits
2009 - 2010 : 1,001,805 Visits

So I would like to thank each and every one of you every second for the next 26 days.

Happy 4th B’Day Suburbview.com, I guess that is probably the best US$10 I have ever spent.
